Benzina Zero Finance Program

Could the Daily Commute Be More Enjoyable? Benzina Zero Launches Dedicated Finance Program

Powered by MitchCap and MitchMarket Finance, the new Australian program is designed to make e-bikes and eligible electric mobility products more accessible while opening a broader conversation about transport choice, active living and the way Australians make everyday journeys.

WOLLONGONG, AUSTRALIA: Conversations about transport often begin with cost, congestion and getting from one place to another as quickly as possible.

But what if the daily commute could also be something people enjoyed?

What if an e-bike did not have to replace every car journey to make a meaningful difference?

And what if Australians had another practical option for travelling to work, visiting friends, completing local errands or simply spending more time moving outdoors?

These are some of the questions behind the launch of the Benzina Zero Finance Program, a new customer finance pathway established through a partnership between Australian e-mobility brand Benzina Zero, MitchCap and MitchMarket Finance.

The program will give eligible customers purchasing through participating Benzina Zero dealers a dedicated pathway for exploring finance in connection with their chosen e-moto, e-bike or eligible electric mobility product.

It has been designed to address one practical barrier to e-moto and e-bike ownership, the upfront purchase requirement—while supporting a more connected journey between product enquiry, finance assessment and ownership.

New Australian research points to enjoyment, confidence and everyday use

The emerging Australian evidence suggests the opportunity presented by e-bikes is not limited to emissions or transport efficiency.

A University of Sydney study published on 15 July 2026 followed 42 Western Sydney participants through an eight-week supported e-bike program. Participants completed 459 trips covering more than 3,000 kilometres for commuting, shopping, recreation and social activities.

During the program:

  • 71 per cent said travelling became more enjoyable.
  • 75 per cent rode more often for everyday transport.
  • 59 per cent reduced their car use.
  • 92 per cent increased their confidence riding.
  • 88 per cent said they would recommend the program to others.

The trial was relatively small and included subsidised access, practical training, guided rides and peer support, so its results should not be treated as representative of every Australian rider. However, it provides an encouraging local example of how e-bikes can become part of everyday life when people are given the right combination of access, confidence and support.

The findings also highlight an important point: successful e-bike adoption is not only about putting more products into the market.

People also need safe places to ride, secure parking, practical information, confidence-building and support from trusted local businesses.

More choice—not a cars-versus-bikes debate

The question is not necessarily, “Can an e-bike replace my car?”

A more useful starting point may be:

“Which of my regular journeys could be simpler, more active or more enjoyable on an e-bike?”

Affordability remains part of the transport conversation

The program is also being launched at a time when Australian households continue to consider the cost of everyday transport.

The Australian Automobile Association’s benchmark modelling for the March quarter of 2026 estimated that transport represented 15.5 per cent of household income nationally for its modelled household. The calculation includes costs such as vehicle finance, fuel, insurance, servicing, registration, tolls and public transport.

An e-bike will not suit every journey, household or location, and finance will not be appropriate for every customer.

However, providing a dedicated finance pathway gives eligible customers another way to consider the initial purchase cost alongside the potential role the product could play in their everyday life.

Rather than having to select a product and then independently search for finance, customers will be able to begin an enquiry through participating Benzina Zero dealerships and connect with specialist finance support.

All applications will remain subject to assessment, eligibility requirements, applicable fees, terms, conditions and lender criteria.

Part of a wider movement towards active and liveable communities

The national policy conversation around active transport is also developing.

The Australian Government’s ongoing Active Transport Fund supports the construction and upgrade of walking and cycling pathways. Its stated objectives include improving road safety, reducing transport emissions and supporting active and liveable communities, with ongoing funding of $50 million per year from 2026–27.

This investment reflects a growing recognition that transport choice depends on more than the vehicle or bicycle a person owns.

Safe and connected infrastructure, secure parking, public transport integration, local dealer support and rider education all influence whether people feel confident using an e-bike for everyday journeys.

The Benzina Zero Finance Program is one component of that wider ecosystem.

Its role is to create a clearer connection between the product, the dealer, the customer and the finance supporting the purchase.

Making electric mobility feel achievable

Benzina Zero offers an expanding portfolio of e-bikes, e-scooters and e-motos for the movement of people and goods. The company has continued to grow its dealer network in Australia while establishing distributor and dealer relationships across multiple European markets.

Benzina Zero Co-CEO and Founder Joe D’Ercole previously founded and expanded Scooterlife Australia, while Co-CEO and Founder Ben Silver brings experience across two-wheel retail, automotive sales and sustainable development. Their combined experience has helped shape Benzina Zero’s focus on practical electric mobility rather than electric technology in isolation.

Ben Silver, Co-CEO and Founder of Benzina Zero, said:

“One of the most interesting findings in the recent Australian research was that people said their travel became more enjoyable.

“That matters because changing everyday behaviour is not only about telling people what is efficient or sustainable. People are more likely to embrace a new way of moving when it is practical, supported and genuinely adds something positive to their day.

“Affordability is one part of the equation, but so are confidence, safety, dealer support, product quality and access to reliable servicing.

“This finance program gives our dealers another way to help customers consider whether an e-bike could realistically work for their commute, lifestyle and budget.”

Connecting the entire ownership journey

For MitchCap, the partnership extends its connected finance model into a mobility category that sits across transport, recreation, retail and wellbeing.

Paul Mitchell, CEO and Founder of MitchCap, said:

“Benzina Zero is giving Australians another practical transport choice, and our role is to connect that choice with a responsible pathway to finance for eligible customers.

“This is our Wing-to-Wing model in action. Connecting the brand, the dealer, the customer and the capital behind the purchase.

Supporting participating Benzina Zero dealers

The Benzina Zero Finance Program will be made available through participating dealers, giving dealer teams a more consistent process for connecting customers with specialist finance support.

The program is intended to help finance become a natural and transparent part of the purchasing conversation rather than an unrelated step introduced after a customer has selected a product.

Participating dealerships will be able to use the program to:

  • Provide customers with a clear starting point for a finance enquiry.
  • Connect showroom, online and event enquiries with specialist support.
  • Maintain continuity between product selection, application and settlement.
  • Access approved customer-facing finance messaging and campaign materials.
  • Support selected product, seasonal and dealer initiatives.
  • Deliver a more consistent experience across the Benzina Zero network.
  • Help customers consider the product in the context of their intended use and budget.

Specific rates, offers, participating products, eligibility requirements and campaign periods will be announced separately following the approval of individual campaigns.
